Introduction

     x-model version 1.0 (beta) is a program that runs both 1D and 2D models, and it simplifies user input into these models thorough a consistent and attractive graphical interface. x-model is a GUI (graphical user interface) front-end for x-library and completely shields users from x-library. Consequently, users of x-model need not be programmers and do not need to study or even understand the x-library framework. Please note that x-model is not part of the x-library, but serves as a graphical interface between users and x-library. x-model was developed using MFC (Microsoft Foundation Classes) and compiled with Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 (patched with Service Pack 3).

Installation

     Run installation file Setup.exe to install x-model. This installation program will also test the user’s computer system set-up prior to actual installation. x-model runs on operating system Windows95 and above only. It requires about 1 megabyte disk space and with a 16-bit screen colour. It is highly recommended that a fast machine (> 500 MHz) is used if the 2D model is to be used intensively.
