What is TAL for Psion 5/5mx?

    Texture AutoLookup (TAL) for Psion works in the handheld Psion series 5 and 5mx to determine the soil texture classes based on 4 soil classification schemes:

1. USDA (U.S. Dept. of Agric.)
2. UK (England and Wales)
3. Canadian
4. International

    TAL for Psion is useful for quick lookups for small sample numbers. If you have large data sets, consider TAL for Excel, or TAL for Windows. Please note that further development on TAL for Psion 5/5mx has ceased.

What's new in version 2.8?

ver. 2.8 - Nov, 2000

• This is the birth of a new family member in TAL which works in the handheld Psion series 5 and 5mx. Yes, ver. 1.0 does not exist. I decided to start with ver. 2.8 because it offered similar functionality with TAL Calculator ver. 2.8 (now called TAL for Windows) as its time of release.

    The file is compressed as a .zip archive. To decompress it, you can use Winzip or Pkzip programs that are widely available. Once decompressed, read the readme.txt file for installation instructions.
